No. Sports massage suits anyone who trains, plays or spends long days on their feet or at a desk. If something feels tight, stiff or sore, it is worth booking.
It can feel firm, especially on tight areas, but it should never be more than you are comfortable with. You are in charge of the pressure the whole way through, so just say if you want it lighter or deeper.
Thirty minutes is enough for one or two areas, such as calves or neck and shoulders. Forty-five minutes gives time to work properly on a couple of areas. An hour suits back and legs together, or a thorough session after a race or a big week of training.
Shorts and a vest top or T-shirt are ideal. You only need to uncover the area being treated.
